Your ceremony will take place in our beautifully appointed Billiard Room, which overlooks the extensive gardens of Linthwaite House, and can take place any time between12h00 and 16h00. A civil ceremony usually lasts no more than 30 minutes.
The ceremony can take place any time between 12h00 and 16h00 if you reserve overnight accommodation for all of your guests.
To accommodate these higher numbers, we recommend that the ceremony takes place at12h00 or 12h30 so that there will be plenty of time to enjoy a relaxed ceremony before being seated for the wedding breakfast by 14h00. Guests can then enjoy the wedding breakfast dinner, speeches and cutting of the cake before the departure of non-resident guests is required at 17h30.
The ceremony will be conducted by two local registrars.
The couple must speak to the registrars before confirming dates and times at Linthwaite. The Kendal Registry Office can be contacted on +44 0300 303 2472. All arrangements should be made by the couple directly with the registrars. The civil ceremony usually lasts no more than 30 minutes.
Should you wish to have music in the ceremony room either before, during or immediately after the ceremony, the registrars must be advised about this prior to the ceremony’s commencement.
You are welcome to provide a CD of your chosen music (please note: no MP3 files) or your own iPod which can be used in conjunction with the hotel’s sound system. Another popular option is to have live music such as a string quartet or harpist.
